Multi-Focus System: incorporates two separate AF drive units, which are synchronized, to deliver especially fast and accurate focusing throughout the zoom range. This system uses dual STM stepping motors, which offer impressively smooth and quiet autofocus performance that is well-suited to both stills and video applications. Additionally, the programmable linear focus ring allows for manual focus with smooth rotation in either direction.
The Plena was designed with cinematographers: in mind, beginning with the lens' popular focal length that lends itself to background separation and arms-length intimacy. In addition to the lens' stunning imagery, the Plena also features smooth aperture transitions and natural shifts between focus positions.
